In a high-cost neighborhood like the Richmond District, it can be a challenge to make ends meet. People from all over our neighborhood, including hard-working people with low-wage jobs, can find themselves unable to afford all the food they need. Seniors, families with children, and unemployed and low-wage workers make up the majority of those struggling with hunger.
Thanks to our partnership with the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, we provide over 700 Richmond District residents with free produce and groceries each week through our volunteer-run food pantries at The Richmond Neighborhood Center and Lafayette Elementary School.
The food pantry is open twice a week:
- Every Tuesday from 2:45-4:45PM at Lafayette Elementary (4545 Anza St)
- Every Thursday from 2:30-4:00PM at The Richmond Neighborhood Center (741 30th Ave)
To receive food, please come to the food pantry and fill out a registration form.
If you would like to donate food:
Please come by the Neighborhood Center with food donations at one of the following times:
- Wednesdays from 11AM-4PM
- Fridays from 1-6PM
