*COVID-19 UPDATE: Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak and shelter-in-place order throughout the Bay Area, all three of our weekly food pantries have been relocated to The Richmond Neighborhood Center headquarters at 741 30th Avenue.*
In a high-cost neighborhood like the Richmond District, it can be a challenge to make ends meet. People from all over our neighborhood, including hard-working people with low-wage jobs, can find themselves unable to afford all the food they need. Seniors, families with children, and unemployed and low-wage workers make up the majority of those struggling with hunger.
Thanks to our partnership with the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, we provide over 1000 Richmond District residents with free produce and groceries each week through our volunteer-run food pantries at The Richmond Neighborhood Center, Lafayette Elementary School and George Peabody Elementary School.
The food pantry is open Three days a week:
- Every Monday from 4:00-5:00PM at George Peabody Elementary (251 6th Ave; Pantry located on 7th Ave between Geary and Clement) *Temporarily relocated to 741 30th Avenue*
- Every Tuesday from 3:30-4:30PM at Lafayette Elementary (4545 Anza St) *Temporarily relocated to 741 30th Avenue*
- Every Thursday from 2:30-4:00PM at The Richmond Neighborhood Center (741 30th Ave)
