One Richmond was proud to co-host the launch of The Chinese in the Richmond exhibition. Participants and local history buffs attended two celebratory launch events on Clement Street. Many guest speakers spoke about their memories of moving to the Richmond District and what it was like growing up here. District 1 Supervisor Connie Chan made some remarks to the gathered crowd. It was wonderful to meet neighbors new and old at this community event.
🍊A collaboration between the Chinese Historical Society of America and Western Neighborhoods Project , CHINESE IN THE RICHMOND sheds light on the lives of Chinese Americans in San Francisco’s Richmond District from the community’s point of view. Monday August 14 (TBC), 21 & 28: 1-5pm
Tuesday August 8, 15, 22 & 29: 12-4pm
Wednesday August 9, 16, 23 & 30: 1-5pm
Clement Street Art Walk Thursday August 17, 4pm until 7.30pm
Exhibition closes Wednesday August 30
