George Washington High School
The Richmond Neighborhood Center has operated programming at George Washington High School since 1998, working closely with the administration, faculty and other service providers to support youth and families at the school.
Students can take part in a drop-in Teen Center space located in bungalow T4 on campus. The Teen Center is a safe place where youth can build positive relationships, play pool, games, ping pong, video games and hang out with friends while making new ones! The Teen Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from dismissal until 6:00PM and Wednesday from dismissal until 5:00PM.
Additionally, The Richmond Neighborhood Center operates an Academic Hub in the library after school where students can drop-in to complete homework, prepare for exams, use computers to complete assignments, and work with school day faculty or The Richmond Neighborhood Center academic support staff. This space is open each day from dismissal until 5:00PM.
Students requiring specialized supports can work with The Richmond Neighborhood Center’s Case Managers to stay on track for graduation, develop social and emotional skills, and more.
Finally, high school students can access employment and job training through the paid Youth Employment Program. Youth have the opportunity to assist and lead activities and classes for up to 10 hours per week in The Richmond Neighborhood Center’s elementary and middle school programs. They are given support and skills to enter and stay in the workforce successfully while maintaining academic success.

HS Programs Director
I am originally from Sacramento and am the product of my amazing grandparents. I am the Director of High School Programs for The Richmond Neighborhood Center as well as a Board member for Black Lives Matter, Sacramento. I have been teaching and doing wellness work within The City for about 6 years, at K-12 and College Levels. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies and went on to receive my Master's Degree in Urban Education and Social Justice from the University of San Francisco. In working for an organization that supports underserved youth through our intentional and healing- centered programming, I am especially excited to have the opportunity to use my expertise to support black youth across San Francisco.
