Food Pantry
In a high-cost neighborhood like the Richmond District, it can be a challenge to make ends meet. People from all over our neighborhood, including hard-working people with low-wage jobs, can find themselves unable to afford all the food they need. Around 20,000 residents, mainly seniors, families with children, those unemployed and low-wage workers struggle with hunger in the neighborhood.
The Food Pantry is Open Four Days a Week:
Every Monday from 3:00-4:00PM
at George Peabody Elementary
(251 6th Ave; Pantry located on 7th Ave between Clement and California St)
Every Tuesday from 2:30-4:00PM
at Lafayette Elementary
(4545 Anza St; Pantry located on 36th Ave between Anza and Balboa St)
Every Thursday from 2:30-4:00PM & Every Friday 1:00-4:00PM
at The Richmond Neighborhood Center
(741 30th Ave)
To receive food from the pantry, please bring an ID and/or a piece of mail from the past three months showing your address within the 94121 or 94118 zip codes. Registration for new participants takes place during the last 15 minutes of pantry hours, so we kindly ask that you arrive at that time to complete the registration form.
Home-Delivered Groceries
The Home-Delivered Groceries program is an extension of our San Francisco-Marin Food Bank supported pantries. In partnership with the Richmond Senior Center, The Richmond Neighborhood Center matches local volunteers with over 225 senior participants whose mobility issues make it difficult to get groceries home on their own. Volunteers deliver fresh groceries, share in friendly conversation, and serve as allies and advocates in the community looking out for those in need.
The Home-Delivered Groceries Program Takes Place Three Times a Week:
Every Monday from 3:00-5:30PM
at George Peabody Elementary
(251 6th Ave; pick up location is on the school yard on 7th Ave between Clement and California St)
