Beacon at Presidio Middle School

The Richmond Neighborhood Center began Beacon programming at Presidio Middle School in 2000. Beacon offers a fully comprehensive after school program from dismissal until 7:00 PM at the school site.

Enrichment After School Program

Offers 6th - 8th grade youth an opportunity to investigate their interests and build soft and hard skills at Beacon. Youth will always participate in a check-in circle, collaborative hands-on activities and a learning debrief. They will also get a chance to show off their skills in the classroom or at culminating family night.

Presidio Enrichment After School Program utilizes a club-based model where each staff will facilitate clubs all year long. Students will have the opportunity to choose different clubs every 6 weeks. Students enrolled in the Enrichment Program will still have the ability to choose their own schedule, though the schedule will be for a longer duration of time to allow for deeper exploration into chosen areas of study.

Every Tuesday, we provide homework support for each student, allowing up to 45 minutes of focused assistance. Following homework time, each cohort comes together for a collaborative community activity, fostering connection and teamwork in a fun, engaging way. There is also the option to get math support from a former educator in Room 124.

Youth often go on field trips on Wednesdays, so please inform Beacon staff if you are picking up, or expecting your child home early.
