The Home-Delivered Groceries program is an extension of our three San Francisco-Marin Food Bank supported pantries. In partnership with the Richmond Senior Center, The Richmond Neighborhood Center matches local volunteers with over 225 senior participants whose mobility issues make it difficult to get groceries home on their own. Volunteers deliver fresh groceries, share in friendly conversation, and serve as allies and advocates in the community looking out for those in need.
THE HOME-DELIVERED GROCERIES PROGRAM TAKES PLACE THREE TIMES A WEEK:
- Every Monday from 3:00-5:30pm at George Peabody Elementary
(251 6th Ave; pick up location is on the school yard on 7th Ave between Clement and California St) - Every Tuesday from 3:00-5:30PM at Lafayette Elementary
(4545 Anza St; pick up location is on the school yard on 36th Ave between Anza and Balboa St) - Every Thursday from 2:30-5:30PM at The Richmond Neighborhood Center
(741 30th Ave; pick up location is on 31st Ave between Cabrillo and Balboa St)
*All volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated (including booster shots). Please be prepared to provide verification of vaccination status upon your first day volunteering.
Can’t commit to weekly grocery deliveries? No problem! Consider volunteering with our food pantry instead.
