International Cooking Class: Oaxaca

Tired of making the same dishes at home? Missing summer travel? Join us for two virtual cooking lessons with chefs from Oaxaca, Mexico and Taipei, Taiwan! Registration proceeds and donations go to programs serving 9 public schools, 1,000 food-insecure neighbors, and year-round community resources for the Richmond District.
Oaxacan cuisine is well known for its unique, warm flavors and foods. Join chef Alfonso Lopez from Que Rico es Oaxaca Cooking School and learn to make empanadas from scratch (vegetarian option available). You will even get bonus recipes to make your own salsa and a salad to round out the meal!
Registration starts at $50 per Zoom connection, and additional donations to support our youth and community programs are appreciated. Both events are interactive and family-friendly. You will shop for your own ingredients using a list supplied by the chefs, then join the live virtual cooking session from home. A shopping list and recipes will be sent to you prior to the event. Tickets are limited to allow for an interactive session.
