Elementary and Middle School Program Applications are Now Open
May 6, 2020
Applications for The Richmond Neighborhood Center’s fall 2020 elementary school programs and middle school programs are now open! We offer school-based programs at five Richmond District elementary and two middle school Beacon programs:
We are continuing to work with SFUSD and our partner schools to determine how the fall semester will proceed, and our first priority is the safety of our participants and staff. In the meantime, we are opening the application process so that we can be ready to begin our programming as soon as we are able.
Additionally, in the 2020-2021 school year, we will also be prioritizing the needs of families with essential workers and those who must leave home in order to work.
Our elementary school programs encourage youth to be curious and build strong relationships by practicing social and emotional learning and offering one-on-one case management and social groups to those in need. In addition to homework time and recreational activities, youth take joy in discovering the world around them through project-based learning in a variety of enrichment classes and field trips.
All of our elementary school programs offer a sliding payment scale and free snack. Last school year, we provided more than $250,000 in financial aid to families.
We will be accepting applications for elementary school programs until May 29. Placement offers will be sent on June 8, and must be accepted by June 22.
Middle School Beacon Program
We are proud to offer robust Beacon programming for youth and their families at Roosevelt & Presidio Middle Schools. From morning groups and lunchtime clubs to after school offerings and evening programs, the Beacons coordinate various resources to enrich the school community. Programs include homework and tutoring, identity-based clubs, career exploration, family engagement opportunities, recreational and wellness activities, case management, and numerous enrichment opportunities based upon the needs and desires of the school community.
Placement offers for the Beacon will be sent by June 30, and must be accepted by August 1. Participation in the Beacon is free for the 2020-2021 school year.
If you have any questions about the application process, please feel free to call us at (415) 751-6600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
